Hi all, I am the grandmother of a 13 yr. old grandson named "Denny".
At the end of August we became the proud owners of a set of braces for Denny. The whole family was very excited for him but little did he know the hard work he would have to do to keep them up and clean so the end result would be a good one.
You see..............Denny is a learning disabled child and along with that his coordination is not very good.
Through the month of August and Sept. until he went back to his orthodontist, Denny had a very hard time with the threading of the needle with floss and then having to put it in and out of every tooth was very trying for him to say the least. He was really getting agitated over this process.
At our Ortho's visits each month you get checked to see if your doing a good job at keeping up your teeth with braces. If you get a good report you are allowed to pick up to 2 colors to wear on your braces for the next month.
Well, unfortunately, in Sept., Denny did not get a good report. His flossing wasn't good. While we were there that day the Ortho told us about these new tools that he had just gotten samples of that was for flossing. He went and got Denny one to use and, with a mirror in hand, this child had the technique down pat before we even left the office.
Of course this was the "Platypus"!
Now without my help (which Denny doesn't want), he flosses every day by himself and has had his 2nd visit to the ortho 2 wks ago. I am so proud and happy to say that he got a wonderful report. The ortho's exact words were "What a difference from last month! Great job!"
I swear by the platypus and would recommend them to everyone whether you are a normal child or one that's challenged, young or old. They're so easy to use and WE ARE certainly proof of that!
I must also add to this testimonial that PDT dental that manufactures the Platypus are such genuine, caring people. After I was unable to find the Platypus in any of my local stores, I contacted them with my dilemma. They explained to me that they only sell to the orthodontists offices etc. and they referred me to the Platypus website where anyone could order them if needed. Then they went above and beyond as far as I'm concerned and sent me a package of the Platypus to hold us over till they had the website up and running.
I don't know about you but there isn't very many big company's out there now-a-days that cares about the "little guys" and their problems. THANK YOU PDT DENTAL! It was your generosity that let us get this wonderful report from the ortho this month and I'm sure many more to come. 'MY HATS OFF TO YA'S!'
